I’m James, The founder of Soft touch Cashmere, after leaving school at 16 to work for my father in the recycled clothing industry i developed a love for rescuing and restoring used clothing.
I saw first hand the impact that ‘fast fashion’ has on the environment and the strain it put on the eco system of the countries it affected. That’s when I decided to make it my mission to rescue and restore as many of the clothing people discarded as possible.
I had a passion for restoring second hand cashmere in particular due to its exquisitely soft and luxurious feel and I quickly discovered I wasn’t the only one who had a love for cashmere.
In 2019 I launched Soft Touch Cashmere with a vision to create a sustainable clothing shop that makes affordable pre loved cashmere knitwear more accessable olnine. We were the first company to focus purely on restoring cashmere knitwear. My father had been restoring and reselling used cashmere knitwear for decades in shops and on market stalls but it wasn’t until 2019 we eventually launched our online shop.

Quality
We have a strict vetting process to ensure all of our rescued cashmere garments are of a high, like new, quality. All of our products are checked over after leaving the production line to see they pass our high standards before uploading to our website to ensure we showcase the best of our stock.
During the restoration process we hand pick, wash, clean, steam and identify any faults before taking pictures and uploading to our website.

At the heart of our mission and something very close to my heart, sustainability was one of the main reasons Soft Touch Cashmere weas founded. Fighting back against the fast fashion industry and doing as much as we can to limit the impact the textile industry has on the planet is something which motivates us to rescue, restore and reuse as much as possible.
Everything we sell is either second hand or made using sustainable, eco friendly methods.
